What is "There is Hope" about?

‘There is Hope” (Mission 2020) is a combined evangelistic mission made up of 12 local Anglican churches based in the Northwest of Sydney.

The aim is to provide opportunities for our congregation members to invite friends and family to events where they can hear the hope that Jesus brings and the difference it makes living in the world now. 

There are 3 major events for adults

  • Our Inspire talks are happening on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th of April.
  • Hope Nights on the 9th, 10th and 11th of April in the evening at Castle Hill Showground
  • Easter Sunday, on the 12th April is also at the Castle Hill Showground

There are also opportunites for kids and youth.

  • A Youth Inspire Festival  on the 3rd of April
  • Kids Sports Day  on the 4th of April at Rouse Hill Anglican College

“There is Hope” seeks to help believers think more about how they can share the gospel with their friends & family in day to day life.

Where is all of this happening?

Inspire Talks are happening at multiple venues in the NorthWest (more info on our website www.thereishope.com.au).

Hope Nights and Easter Sunday will be held at the Castle Hill Showground.

The Kids Sports Day will be held at Rouse Hill Anglican College

When is all of this happening?

Does each event cost anything?

We are encouraging all church members to donate to this mission to cover the costs of themselves and a plus one.  This is to cover any friends/family who you wish to invite.

Any donation given is a once-off and will covers all events.

If you cannot donate you are welcome to attend any event cost-free!

Do we need to go to all of the events in the week?

No, the reason that there a multiple dates is to provide many different times and topics of interest for people to attend.

When can I register for an Inspire Talk?

From March 1, you will be able to register for the talks via the thereishope.com.au website. 

Will there be Good Friday & Easter Sunday services at at the local churches which are involved?

There will be Good Friday services at all the local Anglican churches invovled with “There is Hope.”

The Easter Sunday service will be a combined service at the Castle Hill Showground.  There will be very limited services at local churches

Is there a kids programme on Easter Sunday?

No, the service is aimed at families and we encourage families to sit together. There will be kids packs handed out as you enter and designated spaces for families to sit on picnic rugs and still be a part of the service.

Will there be child-minding at these events?

Not at the Inspire Talks or Hope Nights. However, at the Easter Sunday Service there will be a pavilion for parents and small children to go during the service where they can still hear and see the service.

How long does each talk/night go for?
  • The Inspire Talks are maximum 2 hour seminars
  • The Kids Sports Day goes for 3 hours
  • Hope Nights are 2 hour all-in presentations
  • The Easter Sunday service will go for approximately 1hr 30 minutes
What’s the best way to get to the Showground events?

The Sydney Metro is the best way to get to the showground. The Castle Hill Showground is a short walk from the Showground station. A team of ushers will direct you to the events.

There is limited parking on site and extra parking will be available at Fred Caterson Reserve, a short walk from the showground
